Barrel Sauna Lead Time: What It Depends On

Lead time depends above all on the month in which you order, and the difference is not small. Between the best and the worst moment there can be several weeks for an identical order. As a guide, a kit is made in about 4–6 weeks and delivered in around a week; we always give you a firm date in the quote.

The season is pronounced and predictable

Demand for garden saunas is highest in winter and lowest in early summer, and the difference is considerable.

Manufacturers’ workloads follow this curve with a delay. The queue starts to grow in September and peaks in November and December, when everyone wants the sauna “for winter”.

The same order placed in May and in November therefore gets quite different dates, although the effort is identical.

When to order to have it in winter

Best between May and August. Then the lead times are shortest, and there is often more room for special requests.

If you order late, ask directly for the first free date, not the “usual lead time”. They are two different numbers.

What lengthens the lead time

Special dimensions or changes to the construction. Every departure from the catalogue needs its own preparation.

A particular stove model if the supplier happens to be out of it. The most common cause of delay, and one the sauna maker has no influence over.

A mobile sauna, which adds the trailer and registration, a process of its own.

What shortens it

A catalogue model with no changes.

Flexibility on the stove. If you accept an available model of the same output rather than one particular model, the date can come forward by weeks.

A base that is ready. It helps you to be ready when the pallet arrives, because you can start building the day it comes.

Willingness to combine delivery with another in the same region.

Questions that get a concrete answer

Not “how long does it normally take”, but “when exactly can you deliver”. The first answer is a statistic, the second is a commitment.

Does the period run from the order or from receipt of the deposit? The difference can be two weeks.

What happens if the date slips: is there compensation or just a notification?

When do I get confirmation of the delivery date: at the time of the order or a week before?
